Letter from the PresidentDear Colleagues,
Spring is upon us, which means SUMMER is almost here! Summer Conference Will take place Monday, July 15 in Bowling Green, KY, and we are delighted to welcome Dr. Kristina Caswell-MacMullen, DCA Baylor University, as Headlining Clinician!! Dr. MacMullen's work with ACDA Southern Region Advanced Treble Honor Choir was incredibly impressive - I'm even more excited to host her as our Summer Clinician after watching her last month. In addition to her sessions on the topic of rehearsal mapping, summer conference will feature other interest sessions, panel Q&A, reading sessions, and a masterclass open to conductors at all levels. Register HERE! Summer HS Choral Conservatory Will take place Saturday, July 13-Sunday, July 14 for rising 10th-12th graders interested in pursuing a degree in choral music education. This event will also be held in Bowling Green, KY. Faculty representatives from colleges/universities across the commonwealth will coach participants in voice, conducting, piano, and music theory. Apply (students and/or choral directors on behalf of singers) HERE! Leadership Change After many years of dedicated service to KYACDA, Maggie Owens has asked to take a step back from leadership. I have asked Dr. Richard Waters, DCA Eastern Kentucky University, to take over as Repertoire-Specific Coordinator, and he has accepted. Please join me in thanking Maggie for her service and in welcoming Richard aboard. That's about all for now. See you in BOWLING GREEN! Onward! Dr. Beth Wilson KYACDA President |
